Review: Love Unexpected

Love Unexpected (Beacons of Hope, #1)Love Unexpected by Jody Hedlund
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first novel in Jody’s series centered around lighthouse keepers, Beacons of Hope.

Emma and here brother Ryan have been wandering for as long as they’ve been in America, and all Emma wants is a place to call home.
Her and Ryan were on a boat when it was attacked by pirates.
Patrick the lighthouse keeper and other fishermen came out to help get the survivors out of the water.

Patrick has a little son and is very recently widowed, he’s finding it hard keeping the light and watching the boy. The preacher suggest him and emma get married, they both agree its a fairly good idea and Patrick makes sure emma understands if she’s not happy she can leave with her brother at any point.

Ryan gets a job in the village and Emma goes to live at the light house. She cleans up the house and starts learning to cook, and she try’s to be the best mother to Josiah she can be.
As the days go by emma and Patrick get a few moments through out the day to become friends, and slowly they start falling for each other.
I loved this book:) and can’t wait for the next one In The series, Jody said the next will have a character we were introduced to in this book:) and I have my guess as to who it is.

I received this book free from netgalley in exchange for my honest review

And if you haven’t you should check out her novella that was a prequels to this series:)
